Records of Snowy Mountains Field Trips [Tannatt William Edgeworth (TWE) David] (Series 1463)

This series contains field notebooks documenting TWE David's visits to the Cooma, Kiandra, Tumut, Kosciusko region from December 1905 to February 1906, and to the Snowy River (Thredbo, Jindabyne) in June 1907 are arranged in Series 1468 (Items 90.1, 90.2 and 90.3). David's maps include two outsize folios viz., a map of Blue Lake drawn to scale and a published map annotated by David. The other records in this series pertaining to Kosciusko include numerical data, calculations and notes in David's handwriting and some typescript. This series contains various scripts on glaciation attributed to David. These include manuscript and typescript pertaining to AP Coleman's book on Ice Ages, manuscript (ink) for a reply to a paper by Professor Schuchert, manuscript draft of a paper on the "Permian and Carboniferous Glaciations of Australia", abstracts from the literature (typescript/manuscript in David's hand). The other scripts may have been written for lectures on the "Geology of Australia". There are related records are in Series 1483 (London University lecture notes), and Series 1475 (refer to the subject index to the correspondence in Series 1475). The records pertaining to David's work for the Glacial Research Committee of the Australasian Association for the Advancement of Science are arranged in Series 1486 and in Series 1468 (Item 82).
