People and Culture Committee Remuneration Subcommittee (PCCRSC)

The Remuneration Subcommittee was established by Senate at its December meeting in 2017. The Subcommittee took on the remunerations function of the Human Resources Committee (HRC) and reported to the People and Culture Committee. 

Its terms of reference were included within the terms of reference for the People and Culture Committee.

Terms of Reference – Remuneration Subcommittee

The subcommittee’s terms of reference are reflected in the University of Sydney (Delegations of Authority – Administrative Functions) Rule 2016 (‘the Delegations’). The Remuneration Subcommittee is authorised by 

Senate to:

a) in accordance with Delegation 7.3.2, review the performance of the Vice-Chancellor, determine his or her remuneration package, incentive payments, and terms of employment

b) in accordance with Delegation 7.4.1, approve payment of performance bonuses for the Vice-Chancellor or a Deputy Vice-Chancellor, after consultation with Senate

c) review and approve the Vice-Chancellor’s recommendations regarding the remuneration, terms of employment and performance assessment of his direct reports.

In 2020 Senate undertook an external review of its committee structure and established the following committees, effective 1 October 2020: Building and Estates Committee, Finance Committee, People and Culture Committee, Risk and Audit Committee, Honorary Awards Committee, Nominations Committee, Chairs Committee. [Annual Report 2020 accessed 12/07/2020] The People and Culture Committee no longer had a subcommittee.
