Photograph Albums [School of Physics] (Series 1201)

Five photograph albums created by Professor Harry Messel as Head of the School of Physics. There are three albums: Item 1: 1952 to 1966; Item 2: 1967 to 1974; Item 3: 1975 to 1987 with images and captions of staff, students, events attended by Professor Messel, Summer Schools, Nuclear Research Foundation meetings and Science Foundation for Physics award ceremonies. Item 4 contains images of the boat The Harry Messel and its launch in 1973.

Item 5 is an album of cartoons drawn by the various newspaper cartoonists, dated 14 October 1953 to 25 November 1977, regarding Professor Messel, from a variety of newspapers including The Sun, The Sun-Herald, The Daily Telegraph and The Sydney Morning Herald. (The University does not own copyright in these drawings, which remains with the artist.)
