Senate Resolution SEN_16/6-105​​At 12 December 2016 meeting of Senate, Senate approved 2. the creation of a new Faculty of Medicine and Health (FMH).  3. endorsed the creation of the following University of Sydney schools within the new Faculty:  The University of Sydney School of Medicine, The University of Sydney Susan Wakil School of Nursing and Midwifery, The University of Sydney Dentistry School, The University of Sydney Pharmacy School, The University of Sydney School of Health Sciences (following the physical relocation to the Camperdown/Darlington campus), The University of Sydney School of Public Health, and The School of Biomedical Sciences (proposed title). A school comprising medical science and other components of life and biomedical sciences, with the final composition and name to be determined following further consultation.The Faculty of Health Sciences did not change into a school along with the other medical and health faculties on 30 April 2018, but became The Faculty of Health Sciences within the Faculty of Medicine and Health after its move from Lidcombe to Camperdown campus then to be known as Sydney School of Health Sciences. On 17 September 2018 the Executive Dean (FMH) Professor Robyn Ward announced that the Faculty of Health Sciences would be formally merged with FMH on 1 January 2020. The decision to set a date for integration was to ensure that the strategic planning and alignment would be optimised at the earliest opportunity.
