Music Advisory Committee [Sydney College of the Arts (SCA)]

The Music Advisory Committee was established to advise the Planning Committee on all matters relating to the formation of a School of Music within the College of the Arts. When the College was first established it was envisaged that the College would combine programmes in Design, Visual Arts, Music and Dance and Theatre. The Committee also was to study existing opportunities for professional music education in New South Wales and to advise on courses which would complement these. The Committee also advised the Planning Committee on aspects of the planning of building requirements for music education in the College.

The Committee met first on 20 May 1976; its first chairman was Mr K. Tribe.
