Resource Advisory Committee [Sydney College of Advanced Education (SCAE)]

The Principal's Advisory Committees (PAC) were established to ensure the effective and efficient management of the College and in order to involve academic and administrative staff and students in the management of the College. These committees were to advise the Principal and were seen as vital to the good management of the College. They were created and disbanded on the authority of the Principal.

When the name of the Committee was changed, with the 'Planning' dropped from the title, the references to planning were also deleted from the terms of reference. The terms of reference initially were:
1. to advise the Principal on matters referred to it by the Principal about the overall development of the College and appropriate resource allocation;
2. in preparing recommendations the committee was to examine the resource implications of the academic development plan and site development proposals; it was also to give due regard to delegations and constraints within the organisational and administrative structure of the College, and relevant aspects of financial planning and control; and
3. the PRAC was to advise the Principal on matters referred to it by him in the areas of academic and non academic staffing (including direct or indirect teaching support staffing).

As well as senior executive staff of the College, the Committee included various elected members from the College staff, students, representatives of the unions and a person nominated by the Principal.
