Add28th Feb 2026 8:47AMThis is a photo of me when I was commencing my undergraduate arts degree in Fine Arts. I was a keen screen Printer and the Major in Fine Arts included a 5% optional workshop at the Tin sheds on City Road. I chose to do the screen printing which was my discipline at the time. I made a self portrait in fluorescent colours. It was 1981 my first year at university. This image was chosen as an artwork Honi Soit the next month. I went onto Major in glass at Sydney College of the Arts, we later a merge with The University of Sydney and I became a lecturer full-time in 2003. The Tin Sheds was a vibrate place for poster making at that time. I remember my teacher Angela Gee. Frequent visitors included the band members from mental as anything. Lots of fluorescent paint and silver was being flung around in the Print shop. Great memories. This semester I will be teaching glass and Print with my colleague Rebecca Beardmore for the 2nd Year unit. A lasting set of skills and memories that I am passing on today.
