This item contains 4 bundles, 101 pages of handwritten and typescript research notes and articles in loose paper format and 2 soft covered notebooks.

Bundle 1, 22 pp. Draft article entitled “Note on the Social Organisation of New South Wales”. [Radcliffe Brown has written page numbers on top of pages but these are not in order]. References to Wongaibon and Murawari language groups included. Comparisons with Yaraldi and Southern Arrernte systems.

Bundle 2, 36 pp. Soft covered green notebook entitled “Kamilarai etc” handwritten in blue lead pencil. Crossed out below in black ink “Wala Wongi”. The first page of the notebook is titled “Some Tribes of New South Wales”. The notebook contains research notes regarding the social organisation system of language groups Wongaibon, Murawari and Kamilarai. Written on the rear of the notebook is Australia, A2, and in the first page: Australia. rough notes, followed by 1 further page entitled Family and which refers to sign language of North Queensland. The rear of the notebook also contains [18 pages] loose sheets of research notes and drawings, some typescript and handwritten. The research notes appear to relate to the notebook. References Wanyawalku, Muruwari, Kamilarai, Kurnu and Yualai language groups.

Bundle 3, soft covered brown notebook, 28 pp. Please note the title has been changed to more appropriately reflect the contents of the bundle. This notebook has been retitled Wongaibon because the content relates only to Wongaibon social organisation. The original title was Padu handwritten in black ink, with A1 [circled] written underneath in blue pencil. The first page inside the notebook is titled Genealogies, Padu Tribe. The content of the notebook relates primarily to the Wongaibon language group. [The Padu Tribe may be a Burmese, Andaman Group and thus relevant to Radcliffe-Brown's Andaman research.]

Bundle 4, 15 pp. Research notes entitled: The Kinship System of North Raga. The content does not relate to New South Wales or any Aboriginal language group, rather to Pentecost, Abwatunbuliva, Vanuatu, formerly known as North Raga.
