C and D Series Field and Research Notes and Genealogies [Alfred Reginald (AR) Radcliffe-Brown] (Series 790)

The C Series appears to have been prepared for the articles entitled, "Social Organisation of Australian Tribes" by Radcliffe-Brown and printed in Oceania. They include genealogies, rough notes, maps and are numbered C.1 to C.63 (C.10, C.24, C.46 and C.52 are missing). There are two folders of genealogies and rough notes in Radcliffe-Brown and Daisy Bates' hand entitled 'D1' and 'D2', and some folders without the C or D reference, but which include similar content.

These papers were located in the Department of Anthropology in 1998 and were subsequently arranged by the Archives geographically within AP Elkin's personal papers. Papers attributed to Radcliffe-Brown were removed from the Elkin papers in 2011 and placed with the existing Radcliffe-Brown papers to better reflect their provenance. The old control series reference for the items indicates the previous reference number. 

The papers of Daisy Bates are held at the National Library of Australia (NLA), MS 365
