Records of the Sydney University Welfare Association (SUWA) (Series 1705)

This series consist of two boxes of records of the Sydney University Welfare Organisation (SUWA).

Box 1 contains four Minute books of the Association; many are handwritten, others typed or roneoed and are either loose or pasted or sticky-taped in. The books cover the dates 1938 to 1941, 1945 to 1953, 1969 to 1980 and 1981 to 1989.

Box 2 contains a Minute book for SUWA from 1989 to 1991 and one for the University Employees' Picnic Committee from 3/9/1935 to 16/12/1935. The other records consist of folders regarding: Arranging the 1985 Picnic and Sports Day (1935 to 1936), includes program and entry ticket; Picnic Committee and SUWA reports, Annual Reports (1935 to circa 1956) included are tickets to Dinners and Dances; SUWA Bulletins, Notices (1930s, 1960s 1970s); Superannuation Fund Deed (1968); and the following publications: 'Threads' newsletter (1967 to 1973) 'Health Standard' official organ (1968 to 1970, 1974) and memoranda all of  Health and Research Employees Association of Australia, University of Sydney Branch; University Technical Staff handbook (circa 1958); 'University Staff News' (1951 to 1952) and 'University Reporter' both journals published by the Hospital Employees Association together with SUWA; both of the latter publications include information on technical staff and departmental work, some with pictures.
