Weipa Photographs and Slides Kept by Peter Hinton (Series 1632)

Photographs and slides; there are 6 boxes with roughly 160 colour slides taken at Weipa; some slides have a rough description, but most are unlabelled. The black and white Weipa photographs also are not described individually, but come bundled under the topics Mine, Entertainment, Caucasians, Trade Business, Women's Portraits, Misc. Portraits, Men's Portraits, Children, Misc. Groups, People and Duplicates; portrait photographs do not just include portraits. The images are accompanied by a booklet entitled Photo Record. 1 colour print showing two Aboriginal men with a crocodile on the beach and 3 large prints are also included; 2 of the large prints have annotations on the back; one says 'David Weipa', the other 'Marie Chevathen'.
