Minutes [Research Committee 1 (RC 1)] (Series 53)

These minutes of the Research Committee, called the Research Committee - Commonwealth Grants until 1943, contain information on research funding, grants, scholarships reports, finance, expenses, correspondence, departments, employment and training, Senate inquiry into the organisation and funding research in higher education, target outcomes, travel grants, memorandums, agendas, and business arising from the minutes and research mission and activities of the University of Sydney. A gap exists in the minutes for the years 1986 to 1989. There is one accession containing minutes dating from 1941 to 1985 and a second accession containing minutes from 1990 to 1993. In March 1994 the Academic Board resolved to reconstitute the Research Committee with new terms of reference and composition as a committee of the Academic Board to be called the Research Policy Committee. 28 bound volumes (typed paper and glued in, with later volumes typed and bound), with microfilm copy.
