Australian National Research Council (ANRC) Papers [Adolphus Peter (AP) Elkin] (Series 761)

On his appointment to the vacant lectureship in the Department of Anthropology in December 1932, AP Elkin became Chairman of the Australian National Research Council's (ANRC) Anthropology Committee, remaining in the position until the demise of the ANRC in 1955. (The last meeting of the Executive Committee of the ANRC was 28/10/1955.)

This series contains files of correspondence, Committee papers, grant applications, lists of publications, research reports, printed ANRC annual reports, ANRC historical material, some material concerning the history of the Department of Anthropology, and other research papers and printed material.

Note that the records were sorted by the Department of Anthropology into artificial series based on subject prior to their deposit in the Archives in 1983. See Elkin's biographical entry for further details.
