AP Elkin served as a trustee, a Crown trustee, and President of the Australian Museum.

This series contains correspondence, reports, newspaper cuttings, papers of Board of Trustee meetings, copies of legislation, and Annual Reports of the Museum.

Note that the records were sorted by the Department of Anthropology into artificial series based on subject prior to their deposit in the Archives in 1983. See Elkin's biographical entry for further details.
