The University farms are essential in supporting the teaching and research activities of the School of Veterinary Science, the School of Life and Environmental Sciences (SoLES) and the Sydney Institute of Agriculture.
The NSW Department of Education did not require the Greendale Public School site for a local school and sold the land to the University in 1982. Greendale Public School Site and the other Bringelly sites (Coates Park Farm, John Bruce Pye (JB Pye) Farm and Wolverton Farm) comprise 466 hectares of beef cattle fattening enterprises.
