Miscellaneous [New South Wales State Conservatorium of Music Library] [Sydney Conservatorium of Music] (Series 956)

This series comprises an assortment of records relating to individuals, NSW State orchestra 1922 tour to Victoria and various posters and concert programs, among other items. Item 2 - Glass plate neg of Con in D13/2/e; item 10 is mixture of Conservatorium Students Association documents, programme and photographs of Winifred Burston, key dates and information on the Conservatorium from 1919-1935, e.g. Opera School formed 1935, programmes for Confest, 1979 & 1981; item 13 - plans for playhouse for music and ballet in carrington st, posters and certificates in oversize box A28/1 (Accessions 1666, 2002, 2020), building plans (Acc 2002) in A28/1 in separate oversize box and rolled plans (Acc 2020) A28/4/c. -New item is handwritten letter from musician Sydney Moss who died May 1902 (reported in SMH 16 May 1902), letter to a Mr Smith, dated Dec 19 1898 informing Mr Smith that his son could pursue a carrer playing the pianaforte professionally. Also letter from Prof Theodor Leschetizky certifying that Mr Laurence Smith from Australia studied the piano with him for several seasons, dated 30 July 1906. There is a typed translation as original letter handwritten and in German. Am unsure re item number for this item as will need to re edit item listing. - folder of correspondence regarding the NSW State Orchestra tour to Victoria in 1922. Some of the documents are fragile and have been infested by insects (1921-1922). (Acc 2020) and located in Type 2 on B11/2/d. Include newsclippings of Goosens too in this list - type 2 B11/2/d. - Also folder with docs 1927-1984: letter to Verbruggen from Orchestral Assoc, Minneapolis, 17/07/1924; correspondence Acting Director, JG Painter of the Con to Tama Ungar, of the Department of Music at Texas Christian University 23/07/1980-17/1/1980. - Also notebook of Gladys M Creighton writing of her memories of being a scholarship studnet of piano and singing.
