Minutes [Board for Conducting Public Examinations] (Series 62)

The minutes of the Board contain subject matters such as applications, prizes, awards, reports from the executive committee, junior and senior commercial examinations and fees. The minute book volume starts on 24 November 1880, with what is obviously not the first volume of minutes. Public Examinations were discontinued after 1916 [1916 University Calendar, p.90]. Volume 1 contains notices of recommendation prior to the beginning of minutes. These notes start in May 1853 and mainly relate to recommendations to be made to the Professorial Board. Volume 2 contains information on an amanuensis appointed for Blind Candidates sitting the Junior Public Examination, located at the back of the volume.
