This series contains the minutes for the Faculty/School as well as the Board of Studies in Economics and Commerce. The minutes of early meetings of the Faculty are located in the minute book used for the Board. Only the meeting of November 1917 of the Board is minuted; the minutes are unsigned. This volume is indexed.

The Faculty was established in 1920, following the report of a committee appointed by the Professorial Board to consider the constitution of existing faculties. The report recommended the establishment of six new faculties including Economics. At its meeting on 16 December 1919, the Professorial Board resolved to recommend the report to Senate, which adopted the Professorial Board report at its meeting in February 1920. The by-laws constituting the Faculty were published in the University Calendar 1920 in Chapter XVIII; functions of Faculties are given in Chapter IX.

The first meeting of the Faculty recorded in the minute book was held on the 15 July 1920; the Professor of Economics RF Irvine MA was elected Dean of the Faculty. The early minutes are contained in bound volumes. The minutes for 1985 until the end of 1996 are incomplete. The agendas and minutes for Faculty Board meetings from 2003 to March 2011 are in electronic format (minutes and agendas are kept as separate documents) and are incomplete.
