Examination Results [Sydney Teachers College (STC) Registrar] (Series 461)

These files contain the examination results of all courses offered by the Sydney Teachers College, with the exception of Technical Teacher Education, from 1910 to the end of 1982. They cover courses including evening or extension courses, in-service training for practicing teachers, teachers exams, private and non-award students and students of other institutions completing part of their studies at the College. Classification Schedules for newly qualified teachers entering the NSW Department of Education are also included up to 1930. The results from the extension courses offered in the early years of the College include reports from the teachers who conducted the courses. The reports to the College Principal detail the methodology and content of the courses, and an evaluation of their success. The files are generally arranged by College Section within the final year of enrolment. Sections were the groups students were divided into upon enrolment. Sections were numbered, the numbers often reflecting the nature of the course, e.g., 400 numbers for Diploma in Education.
