Photographic Records of Building Works to 1980 [Buildings and Grounds] (Series 620)

This series contains photographic prints documenting University buildings and building works from the early 1960s to the early 1980s and of the Australian Universities Commission touring campus when visiting the University. Individual prints are kept in sleeves and kept together arranged as albums under the building’s name and in chronological order. An album consists of a binder containing plastic sleeves with black and white prints size 8" x 10". The images show buildings and structures, often documenting construction work in detail. Views show external and interior works with many from above showing surrounding streets and suburbs in the background. The images documenting brickwork are in colour. Some albums document the building of the same structure, and while some images are duplicated many document different aspects of the building work.

A number of folders within this series are duplicated. However, they do not contain the same number of images and often do not have the same or any descriptions. The information in the folders complements each other. The folders with more select images were kept by the Assistant Architect and seem to have been prepared for presentation.
