Minutes [Anniversary Appeal Committee Executive Committee] (Series 380)

1 bound volume of minutes. The first meeting of the Executive Committee was held on 15 July 1927. Included in the first meeting minutes is a comprehensive statement by the Vice-Chancellor setting out the financial problems of the University at that time. There are minutes of a general meeting held on 9 August 1927 and reports from the Public Information Committee and Design Committee. The last recorded meeting of the Committee was on 6 November 1928, when it was announced that a total of 345,578 pounds had been raised, including a large sum from Mr G Bosch. The meeting was concluded with giving thanks to all the staff and students whose voluntary hard work had created a successful appeal. Correspondence continues on into 1929 despite the Executive Committee holding its last meeting on 6 November 1928.
