Committee in Support of Students with Special Needs [Cumberland College of Health Sciences (CCHS)]

In April 1981 the Australian Vice Chancellors Committee initiated a review of provisions in universities for students with handicaps. One of the questions was whether any special programs were initiated by the organisation in 1981, the International Year of Disabled Persons. As a result the Committee began meeting in 1981. In March/April 1988 the Committee had discussions about the background and whether the Committee was still required. The Committee was responsible to the Principal of the College, who at that time wanted the Committee to continue.
