Consolidation Implementation Committee for the Establishment of Sydney College of the Arts as a University College of Sydney University

The Consolidation Committee was established under the agreement between the New South Wales Institute of the Arts and Sydney University relating to the establishment of the Sydney College of the Arts as a University College of the University. Under the agreement the Committee was to co-ordinate and facilitate the implementation of the Memorandum of Agreement, and in particular the Committee was to

(1) advise the Senate on the implementation of the decision to establish the College as a University College of the University of Sydney;
(2) provide detailed proposals in relation to the conditions as set out in the Memorandum of Agreement;
(3) have power to establish working parties to address particular issues mentioned in the agreement, as well as such other working parties as it deems appropriate;
(4) prepare reports on a range of matters with respect to the consolidation; and
(5) report to the governing bodies on progress in implementing the consolidation.

The Committee met on three occasions on 22 September 1989, 20 November 1989 and 22 March 1990. It concluded its work at the 22 March meeting and recommended that it be dissolved.
