Administrative Support Services Division

In 1992 a review of the administration of the University was carried out by a Committee chaired by the Vice-Chancellor assisted by the Boston Consulting Group. Consequences of that review include the establishment of the four central Administrative Divisions, the establishment of four Academic Groups of Academic Devolved Units and a new senior management committee, the Vice Chancellor's Committee (VCC) . The emphasis of the new management structure is on devolving administrative activity from the centre towards the faculties and separating service and policy functions.

There are four Administrative Divisions:

•   Administrative Policy and Strategic Planning    

•   Administrative Support Services

•   External Relations

•   Financial Services    

    

The Head, Administrative Policy and Strategic Planning Division, is accountable for the development of corporate strategic planning processes and administrative policies to provide for consistency in the development and application of administrative policies and in the strategic planning processes across the University.

The Head, Administrative Support Services Division, is accountable for the planning, managing and co-ordination of central administrative services to maintain and support an internal, client focused approach to the provision of support services to the Academic Groups and Units.

The Head, External Relations Division, is accountable for the developing and enhancing the University's image and reputation with the national and international community to provide support for the University and its objectives and to provide additional revenue sources for the University.

The Head, Financial Services Division, is the University's formally delegated controller of financial affaurs, accountable for the development of financial systems, properties and investments, risk management, financial services budgeting and management accounts.
