It dealt with matters of interest to the students. The formation of any College clubs, unions, societies or organisations required the approval of the Council. By 1953 the name of the Council had changed to The Students' Representative Council (SRC). The SRC determined the amount of College dues to be levied on students in order that the program of activities of the various Clubs affiliated with the SRC could be carried out.
In 1975, the year the Teachers College became part of the Sydney College of Avanced Education the Council became The Students Union Council (SUC).AbolitionNSW Higher Education Amalgamation Act 1989
