Practicum Administration and Procedures Review Committee [Sydney College of Advanced Education (SCAE)]

Early in 1985, a proposal was made to proceed with a detailed study of the administrative procedures associated with the practicum program for trainee teachers in the College. It was to identify improvements which might be made to give greater assistance to academic staff and which might also reduce duplication, clerical effort and accelerate the process of paying supervising teachers.

The terms of reference of the committee were to:
1. prepare a draft statement of policies and principles which guide the organisation and procedures current operating for practicum programs;
2. progressively consider data assembled during the study on particular aspects of practicum procedures and to consider recommendations for improvements from Institutes and the administration; and
3. consider the educational/academic issues which have a bearing on the practicum programs of the College in terms of cost administration generally or procedures specifically.
