Finance and Infrastructure Committee

On 5 June 1995 (74/95) Senate adopted the Report of the Ad hoc Committee to review the operations of Senate. The committee recommended that the Finance & Planning Committee be split onto the Finance Committee and the Planning Committee as soon as possible. The Finance Committee then first met in July 1995.

Following the Senate Governance review of Cordiner King & Associates in 2001 Senate approved the Committees revised terms of reference and the continuation of its existing composition (res. 18/02, 4 Feb 2002. At its meeting on 19 February 2006 Senate approved in principle the revised name [res. 6/06 (b)], Terms of Reference, Constitution, Terms of Office and Quorum for the Finance and Infrastructure Committee as amended at the meeting, subject to their review by Mr Cameron after consultation as above and further review by the Chair of the Committee when elected at the March Senate meeting.

At the same meeting the revised Audit and Risk Management Committee and new Investment and Commercialisation Committee were established.

Following an extensive review of Senate committees in 2009, major changes to the committee structure were implemented in 2010 and the Committee had a revised role and membership from 3 May 2010 [Annual Report 2010].
