From Australia's First: a History of the University of Sydney Vol1 p 557 see footnote 175
" In 1929 the New South Wales Branch of the British medical association decided to form a standing committee having at its aim the organisation of post-graduate work. This committee became in 1932 the autonomous New South Wales permanent Post-Graduate Committee. This body consisted of representatives of the BMA, the University of Sydney and the main hospitals. With Victor Coppleson (later Sir Victor) as secretary the committee arranged lectures in the city and country areas."
The Senate in 1935 adopted a new by law establishing the New South Wales Post-graduate Committee in medicine.
