The first Lecturer in Pathology was William O'Brien Camac Wilkinson (1857-1946) who was appointed in 1883. In 1901, Sydney Jamieson was appointed lecturer, and in 1902, the first professor of Pathology was appointed, David Arthur Welsh (1865-1948). He held the Chair until 1936, when William Keith Inglis (1888-1960) was appointed. Inglis was followed in 1953 by Frank Rees Margery, who held the Chair until 1977.
