The Library was built from 1958 to 1962, and the Stack was constructed from 1967 to 1971.
The Buildings and Grounds Committee, which met on 20 March 1959, put forward to Senate on 6 April 1959 that the "new Library" be named "Fisher Library". [Ref 1].
