There is correspondence between Elkin and Dr A Aiyappan, Superintendent of the Government Museum, Madras re Aiyappan purchasing two items for Elkin (Elkin reimburses him). It is unclear whether the items are purchased by Elkin for himself or on behalf of the Department of Anthropology.
