These papers were originally in a folder labelled 'Department Native Affairs Western Australia – Miscellaneous' and consist of letters and notes, most are not dated.

Included are:

Letters to AP Elkin by Ross McDonald, Perth, regarding a possible Royal Commission and references in Hansard (1961 & 1961); part of a letter by Ronald Berndt to AP Elkin replying to AP Elkin's queries regarding Western Australian Government arrangements regarding Native Affairs (19/10/1961); letter by SG Middleton, Commissioner of Native Affairs, Western Australia, replying to AP Elkin's query regarding his original appointment to the position of Commissioner (27/11/61); a letter of reply to AP Elkin by F Moy, Office of Aboriginal Affairs Canberra, includes special note attached to letter explaining the Department's letterhead using one of Stanner's motifs (n.d.); and several bundles of handwritten notes with headings: [Western Australian] Hansard, Wood, Morley incl. 2 pp. on Bateman report; also included is an organisational chart of the staffing of the Department of Native Affairs, Western Australia.
