SENSITIVE CONTENT The Congenital Sacred Spot on Newborn Infants

The material consists of correspondence, a paper and journal articles relating to observations on new born infants.

The correspondence is between Elkin, Dr Paul Rivet and JB Cleland regarding sacral marks on newborn babies. It includes several copies of a typescript paper by Dr Paul Rivet entitled 'The Congenital Sacral Spot'

The female foetal specimen was presented by Sir Baldwin Spencer to the Anatomical Museum of Melbourne University in 1912 and, according to Baldwin, came from Port Darwin.
