Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Ancestral Remains Advisory Committee

The Committee was established in 1995 to oversee the implementation of the policy on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Ancestral Remains and Culturally Significant Items held in the Collections at the University of Sydney (endorsed by Senate 5 December 1994 160/94) and repatriation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Human Remains and culturally significant items to the relevant communities where the provenance to a community could be established. The Committee reported to the Vice Chancellor as necessary.
