Records of Alison Hattersley (Series 1582)

The records consist of photographs, programs and newspaper articles reporting on Alison Hattersley's achievements at university sports while a student at Sydney University.  Alison won blues for tennis and swimming in 1927-1928 and a blue in basketball in 1930 and became the first Australian "Varsity Girl" to gain a triple blue.

Also included are two lapel pins from the SUWU Sydney University Women's Union.

The images include a group photo of the Interstate University Tennis, Adelaide, 23 May 1927; of the tennis team members, Melbourne, May 1928; Alison in action at Intervarsity tennis in Adelaide, May 1927; a formal image of Alison with her tennis racket, n.d.; a group photo of the Sydney Intervarsity Basketball Team, 1929; a group photo of all 4 participating basketball teams at Intervarsity in 1929; 2 photos of the Sydney University Intervarsity swimming team, Adelaide, January 1930, photographer Henry Ludwig Frank Krischock. The team won the Intervarsity women's swimming contest held at the Adelaide City Baths.

The programs include copies for Intervarsity Women's Tennis for 1927, 1928 and 1929, and the Intervarsity Basketball Contests in Adelaide in 1929 as well as newspaper clippings reporting on the women's Intervarsity contests in 1929 and 1930.
