Accession Registers [University Archives] (Series 799)

- 1954 to 1968

David Macmillan did not maintain an accession register, but transfers and donations were recorded in the Archives Committee minutes (Series 14).

- 1969 to 1980

Gerald Fischer created three volumes to register accessions. 

1: Official "G" Group accessions; numerical starting from 1.

2: Gift Re-Deposit Register of Non-Official Archives, Manuscripts, Microfilms Etc.; records depositor, access restrictions, date of transfer, Archives identifier (P, S and M group numbers plus Biog and Reference articles. 

3: Register of Illustrations; mostly G3/244; includes depositor and item number.

- 1981 to 2010

Print outs starting from Accession 389 stored in red folders. Continuing numerical sequence of Fischer's "official accessions", but from 1981, includes all accessions. At first, accessions included a "G", "P", "M", "S" identifier before the running number, but from Accession 451 the qualifier is dropped and accession numbers are purely numerical. From 1991, accessions have been registered electronically and printouts are made, continuing the numerical sequence. The databases used were SUACS from 1991; Tabularium from 2004 to 2006, and CHAOS from 2007. All accession registrations from Accession 1067 have been migrated to CHAOS.
