Monthly Reports by the Investment Officer [Investment Office] (Series 174)

This series consists of two A4 bound volumes containing Investment Office reports that were submitted to the then Secretary of the University , Mr H McCredie, later Deputy Principal. The reports contain details of investments, real estate owned by the University, the staff housing scheme, and matters relating to the staff of the Investment Office. The documents illustrate the workings of the Investment Office almost from its beginnings as a separate entity, the Investment Officer being initially appointed on 17 November 1972. The Investment Office was concerned with the short term money market, mortgage lending, fixed interest loans, the housing office, and real estate owned by the University. These records are carbon copies of those sent originally to McCredie, but they appear to be the only evidence of the Investment Office that has survived. The reports are from Ian Ramage.
