Papers Relating to the Dissertation "An Investigation of Stresses in a Three Hinged Stiffened Suspension Bridge" [John William (JW) Roderick] (Series 1106)

This series contains folders of drafts, tracings, drawings, research notes and correspondence relating to a dissertation submitted by JW Curtis and JW Roderick for the degree of BSc in Engineering with Honours in 1935, and then resubmitted by Roderick for the degree of MSc in Engineering in 1937. The correspondence includes a notice of publication of the dissertation in the Institution of Civil Engineering Journal, as well as letter addressed to Roderick, announcing that, for his dissertation, he is to be awarded with the James Forrest Medal and Miller Prize from the Council of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
