This series contains both private and official correspondence of Alexander Oliver. They have not been separated because so many of Alexander's personal correspondents were also his legal and official colleagues, and most of the letters deal with matters that concern both their personal and official relationships. Some of the more notable correspondents include Alfred Stephen, Edmund Barton, John Fairfax, George Dibbs, JH Carruthers, Henry Dangar, William Manning, Charles Cowper, Arthur Streeton, Henry McLaurin, and WC Windeyer.
