This series contains papers in a legal case concerning the erection of a new stained glass window at St Marks Church, Darling Point, including correspondence, handwritten legal opinion notes, and a copy of the church's newsletter The Church Messenger (23 August 1922).

The provenance of these papers is unknown, however, the new window was proposed by a Mrs AA Smart, widow of TW Smart. After Alexander Oliver's father, Andrew Oliver, died, his mother remarried TW Smart, Treasurer and Minister for Public Works under Sir Charles Cowper.

This series may belong to another series, but these papers have been kept separate because they were tied up in a separate bundle among the unsorted Oliver family papers.
