Letters from Friends in the USA [Samuel Henry Egerton Barraclough] (Series 1437)

This series consists of personal correspondence, mainly with friends in the USA. About forty per cent of the letters were written by Anna Botsford Comstock of Ithaca, New York; many letters are not dated but appear to have been written between the late 1890s and 1927. Another forty percent of the letters were written by Anna B Pratt and other members of the Pratt family of Elmira, New York (1894 to 1929). There are small collections of letters authored by Inga Orner, a Norwegian-born opera singer (1916 to 1939), Florence A Gillies (1910 to 1925) and Jervis Langdon (1902 to 1941) both of New York city. The letters written by Lionel S Marks and other engineering colleagues are part of Series 1440. The records are arranged by correspondent and chronologically.
