Appointments and Awards [Samuel Henry Egerton Barraclough] (Series 1426)

The documents in this series pertain to Samuel HE Barraclough's appointments with the Australian Military Forces (mostly 1909 to 1916), the University of Sydney (mostly 1898 to 1916), as well as an offer of an appointment as teacher at the NSW Government high school in Ultimo, Sydney in 1895 and testimonials written for Barraclough between 1893 and 1909. The series also includes correspondence pertaining to the award of the Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851 scholarship (1892 to 1894) and the Miller Prize of the Institution of Engineers in 1895; certificates of award of the CBE (Military Division) 1919 and KBE in 1920. The KBE insignia and other decorations (medals) including the Volunteer Decoration of the Colonial Auxiliary Force (VD), 1920, were transferred to the custody of the Macleay Museum.
