Administrative Records [Samuel Henry Egerton Barraclough] (Series 1412)

This series comprises original manuscripts and other papers pertaining to GA Taylor; correspondence with Professor HE Whitfield, University of Western Australia (1920 to 1940); documents relating to the Sadi Carnot Centenary Commemoration in 1924; correspondence and working papers pertaining to the organisation of the Engineering School and the establishment of the Faculty of Engineering (1902 to 1910); and records of University committees including the  Research Committee (1947 to 1948) and the Vice Chancellors' Committee.

The series also contains a work diary of Douglas Bennett McIntyre, employed as an assistant on Commonwealth Research Grant funds in the Department of Mechanical Engineering from June to December 1937 (see G18 Salaries Book, No. 10, Folio 14). University records (G3/210) show that McIntyre was born in 1915, attended Sydney High School and graduated with a BEng degree in December 1937. The diary is a brief record of work carried out between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 12pm on Saturdays, initialled periodically by Samuel HE Barraclough.
