The Social Science Research Council changed its name to the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia in 1971. AP Elkin was a Fellow until the end of his life.

This series contains correspondence, meeting papers and minutes, and copies of reports and addresses to the Academy. (Includes a letter by Elkin describing the very first conferral of DLitt at the University of Sydney to HV Evatt, 08/08/1974.)

Note that the records were sorted by the Department of Anthropology into artificial series based on subject prior to their deposit in the Archives in 1983. See Elkin's biographical entry for further details.
