2 bundles and 1 single sheet. Each bundle contains loose sheets of paper bound in pink paper, containing entries typescript in black ink; and the 1 single sheet. The 2 bundles contain chapters of My Dusky Friends for what appears to be editing purposes. The Author: Mrs AY Hassell, the wife of an early explorer in the Esperance Bay area and referring to the period 1860-80.

Bundle 1: 9 pages. Several short chapters including the legend of Waalegh & chillion (Wedge-tailed eagle & sea eagle), 9 pages. The editor appears to be DR Moore, 19/4/62.

Bundle 2: 8 pages. Native Dress and Weapons; Native Battle and Single Combat, 8 pages. The editor appears to be an officer of the Australian Institute of Aboriginal Studies, Canberra, ACT. They write: Some excerpts from an unpublished manuscript in the Mitchell Library, entitled My Dusky Friends - sketches of the south-Eastern Natives of Western Australia: some of their legends and customs, by Mrs AY Hassell. For consideration for editing and publication by the Institute.
1 single sheet of paper: The cover of a 12 leaf examination book for the Australian School of Pacific Administration. AY Hassell My Dusky Friends MS Mitchell Libary is handwritten in blue ink on the back.
