A copy of a report entitled: Summary Report: The University of Western Australia Anthrological Survey of the Eastern Goldfields, Warburton Range and Jigalong Regions, Jan. 26th - March 2nd 1957. The entries typescript in black ink. The report was prepared for distribution by Ronald M Berndt and Catherine H Berndt. RM Berndt notes in the acknowledgements that this survey was not designed as a follow up to the report of the Select Committee appointed to inquire into the Laverton-Warburton area Native welfare conditions, that it is supported solely for the purposes of routine anthropological research. The purpose of the expedition undertaken by routine survey of the region, was set out in 5 areas and included: 1. the potential for future anthropological-sociological research; the distribution of Aborigines, in terms of tribal affinities, and 2. their presence in certain areas, settlements and so on: numbers involved, and degree or sophistication of various groups.
