Amalgamation Records [New South Wales State Conservatorium of Music Registrar] [Sydney Conservatorium of Music] (Series 958)

Changes to the higher education policies in the 1980s, resulted in the Conservatorium amalgamating with the University of Sydney. The merger took effect on 1 January 1990.
This series consists of various correspondence and meeting papers regarding the amalgamation - the Conservatorium of Music general staff working party and the Conservatorium Library working party. Both files include correspondence, recommendations, discussion papers, memorandums and notes of meetings. There is also the press release from the NSW Minister of Education regarding the amalgamation, draft industrial agreement with the University and the Public Service association, and, papers relating to SCAE general staff working party on the amalgamation and, a report on the future accommodation of the Conservatorium from the president of the Conservatorium Students Association.
