The item is comprised of 1 eleven page, typescript article entitled Sociological Theory of Totemism by AR Radcliffe-Brown, which he delivered at a conference in Java in 1929 on totemism including an extract from Man, 1914, Nos. 45-46, entitled 'Mana' by AM Hocart which does not relate to any specific language group. In the Sociological Theory of Totemism there is brief mention of Totemism in the following language groups: Nyikina, Yaraldi, Tiwi Islanders, Arrernte, Diyari and Bardi, and, matrilineal and patrilineal clan totemism.
